Sybil - hiddenpaintings.com
Shirley Mason, the subject of the 1973 national best seller, and 1976 made-for-TV movie "Sybil", a successful commercial artist, lived out the last 25 years of her life quietly in Lexington, KY. The cache of over 100 paintings found locked in her basement shortly after her death in 1998, provide a look into her artwork from her early days a student at Mankato Teachers College, in Minnesota (early 1940's), through her treatment and recovery with Dr. Wilbur in New York (mid-1960's).
